Notes:
Pandit Ravi Shankar is probably the most successful Indian musician of modern times and the chief ambassador of Indian classical music. Without his efforts, the sitar would certainly not have become such a familiar instrument in the West.
The selections on this album feature highlights of some of Ravi Shankar's greatest recordings for the famous Gramophone Company Of India - four different raags each reflecting the changing moods and emotions throughout the day.
1. Raag Alahya Bilawal (Morning Raag) 21:51
2. Raag Samant Sarang (Afternoon Raag) 14:16
3. Raag Panchann Se Ghara (Early Evening Raag) 17:19
4. Raag Bihag (Late Evening Raag) 19:48
